FAQs
-
By “neurodivergent parent,” I mean any parent who considers themselves part of the ND community. That could mean that you have a diagnosis (or two or three), or it could simply mean that you have kids who are ND and you’ve recognized a lot of their traits in yourself.
Basically, if you don’t feel at home in (neuro)typical parenting spaces and you have respect for ND folks, this could be a great fit. -
Nope!
It will be run and operated from the U.S. and may be most active during the day in the Pacific timezone, but folks from other areas of the world are welcome to join. This club is focused more on finding people with similar experiences, wherever they are, than finding a local community.
Depending on interest, there may be similar groups for in-person connection in the future. -
No, I’m not a therapist. Rather than focusing on healing or treating anything, this club is about building friendships and finding people who can relate to you and your life. My background is in content strategy and design thinking, with deep interests in parenting and neurodivergence.
I’m a therapy fangirl though, and I wholeheartedly encourage ND parents to seek out therapy!
If any mental health or other health concerns come up during the duration of the club, you’ll need to seek out the care of your professional healthcare providers. -
It’s really up to you!
The idea is that most of your participation can happen here and there throughout your day, when you have a couple minutes to spare. We’re all busy and there aren’t any expectations that you participate a certain amount.
We’ll also have optional calls every other week, scheduled based on availability and interest. You can stay for the whole time or just drop in if that’s what works for you. I’ll provide a reminder one week before each call in case anyone wants to arrange childcare. -
A few ways:
It’s a small group so that we can see and honor each other’s humanity. I’ve found that when we can do that, we’re a lot less likely to tear each other apart.
It’s private and confidential. I want everyone to be able to share about their reality without worrying about strangers reading it.
It’s moderated — by someone who is being paid for their time and energy.
It’s facilitated to ensure there’s space to discuss challenges while also tapping into our capacity for joy and wonder.

Great question!
As we approach the end of the club, I will provide a system for participants to express where and how they’d like to stay in touch with any connections they’ve made.
I’ll also invite the group to share what they’d like to see next from Toss 22!

Rules of engagement
Please note that in order to maintain a safe, inclusive environment, everyone will be expected to adhere to these guidelines:
First and foremost, our interactions are to be rooted in respect at all times. We are here to build connections and honor each other’s humanity.
In short, let’s do our best to lift each other up, not bring anybody down.
If you have advice or suggestions for someone, please ask first to make sure that’s what they’re looking for. Sometimes people just need to be heard.
We won’t always agree with one another, and that’s okay. We’re not here to change minds or win arguments, but you’re welcome to share your perspective and speak about your own experiences.
This is a confidential group where we’ll be talking about messy, complicated topics. If you wish to share anything outside of the group, you’ll need to get permission first.
